blog #7

Im sorry call it lazyness or irresponsible towards hw, but i cant not bring myself to actually watch these so called "reality shows" every now and then i watch high lights of some idiot doing something equal idiotic and asking why they got in trouble. I feel not only are most of these situations by the directors to create publicity and ratings but the fights that are real can be avoided if they weren't complete assholes. I see no 'reality' i see stupid people being told to act more idiotic then they actually are to create more viewer. We as viewers arent helping things, we watch this garbage mindlessly to make ourselves feel better about ourselves, which i guess could be a valid argument in why one would watch it. Im sorry if i offended anyone with my rant about crappy, mindless television. i dont find this entertaining

    If you can't stomach watching...hazard instead some educated guesses on WHY our culture is so "reality-crazed"--what does it say that millions of people watch these shows? How do these viewers inadvertently affect the lives of those they "view"? How have we become a culture of voyeurs?

    I agree with your rant derrell the way these people act in front of the camera is ridiculous and the fact that these people are "role models" says alot about the many viewers who watch shows like Jersey Shore.

    I agree that people watch these shows to make themselves feel better about their own lives. I watch some of it because I can't believe what some people will do to be on TV.

    i feel the only reason people watch these shows is to feel better about themselves, or try to bring some kind of excitement into their lives via tv. Ive watch bits and pieces of different reality shows and see one common theme, random 20 somethings that have no respect for other people living in a house and told to be douchebags. We fuel the ratings so they get payed. The more we watch the more they jumpa round like monkeys for us. i want to believe that the only reason the "reality stars" act the way they do is because there is a video camera in their face almost 24/7.
