blog#6

Big Brother cant be described as a person in our society, Big Brother is more along the lines of our mentality. We say we want privacy yet we post incriminating pictures and what not all over social networks. Its not that we lost our 'Right' to privacy it just seems we hold our privacy at a lower regard then we used to. The things that would make us feel uncomfortable, such as a stranger trying to be your friend out of the blue, has been replaced by a overwhelming need to have more 'friends'. I would like to say that as a society we wouldn't give up our basic freedoms such as freedom of speak, being able to wear what we want, etc. but the culture is trying to tell us what we should and shouldn't do (wear this, not that; talk this way, not that way; buy this...) yet we will always have our freedom as long as WE want it.

This is so true! Everyone complains about how companies will look at Facebook profiles to judge a prospective employee, but it's like, "WHY would you post that stuff online anyway!?" I knew someone who is underage and an elem ed major that posts pictures of himself at parties, holding Natty beer cans. Seriously, he is just asking to have his future ruined.

  2. True to all of what you wrote, it has turned into a society where we find we need to have more friends. All those social networkds can just get you into trouble, you need to be careful.
